TKG has provided search engine optimization (SEO) and other digital marketing services to companies in Canton, North Canton, Akron, Cleveland and cities across Ohio and the USA for more than 25 years. Keep reading to see how we tackle SEO for our clients.
SEO has evolved over the years to encompass a lot of factors, including website security, speed and architecture. However, one thing has remained true over the 25 plus years that we've been leveraging search engine optimization for our clients; focusing on the user rather than the search engine's algorithm is how we generate the best results. That is done primarily by developing high quality content that addresses the issues our client's potential customers have. In addition to content, ensuring site-health and performance has become increasingly important over recent years.
It was never a good idea to simply pack a page with keywords and hope for the best -- most call that keyword stuffing. As Google and other search engines get better at evaluating the effectiveness of a website, our job as an Ohio SEO agency continues to evolve. It is our responsibility and commitment to our clients to generate SEO results by doing what is right. That means we will help you build a high-quality, content-rich website that answers the questions and challenges of your clients and potential customers.
If you have been in the marketing world for any length of time, you probably know that SEO is not an overnight initiative; it takes time and continuous effort. At TKG, we understand that market leaders likely do not have the time to stay on top of on-page and technical SEO. That is why we craft a custom content & SEO strategy for our clients with results as the primary KPI.
Is SEO worth it for businesses?
Corporate businesses love to ask questions like "is SEO worth it for my business". The short answer to that is, absolutely. However, we understand why businesses ask themselves that question. The reality is that Google and YouTube still lead the internet when it comes to searching online. It's true that advertising is taking up more real estate every day, but SEO should still be a staple tactic to generate traffic because it involves making your website better on an ongoing basis. It is our experience that even in 2023, our digital marketing partners receive the lion's share of their converting web traffic from organic search. Even those with significant PPC budgets.
What if my audience does not use the internet to find us?
Usually when we hear this question we raise an eyebrow. That is, because, who doesn't use the internet to find solutions to their problems? All joking aside, we realize that some industries are less likely to use the internet in the awareness stage of their buying journey (usually when people are searching the web for a solution to their problem). However, we have seen that although your prospects may not be looking to the internet for direct solutions to their problem, they are likely using the internet for research on #1 potential competitors of yours, #2 specifics on what you offer, #3 trust factors on your website like the people that work for you, if you have worked with similar businesses to theirs, and several other considerations. The truth is, while some things do not make sense to use search engines to do research on, humans are likely to use them when they need more information on your business or the solution they are wanting to use.
Can you do SEO without making my website look different?
Is it possible to get more organic traffic by making mostly behind-the-scenes adjustments to your website, yes. Is that a good idea? Not likely. To implement a good search engine optimization strategy that is purely white hat (the only way we will do it) will involve website usability enhancements, new content and adjustment of your existing website content. It is our belief that good search engine optimization is a holistic approach to making your website more useful to your audience.
Do you work with B2B companies?
Of course we do! We offer B2B SEO services for a variety of industries. In fact, we provide SEO and digital marketing services for big & small companies and would love to learn more about your brand and your lead generation goals.
Should search engine optimization be done in campaigns?
The fact is that true SEO takes time. It's not a project or campaign. SEO is a commitment to continually improving your website. So, in reality, it should be a long-term effort like anything else in your business. You wouldn't do an "accounting campaign" to make your finances better for a while right? You likely either have an accounting team or a partner accounting firm that helps you keep your business financially sound over years and decades, not short spurts. As IRS regulations change, and your business evolves, your accounting team keeps you on the right track. SEO should be no different. The search landscape is constantly evolving. Google and Bing change algorithms, other players like Amazon and Facebook influence how people search, etc. Your SEO agency should be continually guiding you through those changes, helping you get the most out of your digital footprint.
Can you guarantee me search engine rankings?
We won't even try. Search engine rankings are in constant flux for a variety of reasons. The search engines target search engine results heavily on the searcher's intent, location, habits and preferences. The reality is that SEO agencies that are still heavily focused on promising you or guarantying you rankings should find their way to the bottom of your consideration set. Better indicators of success are organic traffic and leads or sales generated.
How long does SEO take to generate an ROI?
There are countless factors that play into answering this question with integrity. No matter what a new client's situation is, we typically tell them not to expect to see significant improvement from an SEO perspective for at least 6-9 months after engagement. That is because, to do our job right, we will have to do some research, then implement website improvements, new content and optimizations. Those things take time to execute. Then the search engines have to notice. This isn't to say that there aren't times that we see results much faster. However, we prefer to take on clients that are engaging in SEO for the long haul and understand that this is a commitment to getting healthier and stronger on an ongoing basis. SEO is not a "quick fix."
Should I buy domains with keywords in them to help my SEO?
If you like to buy domains, go for it. But buying a bunch of domains and pointing them at the same content isn't going to do much more than make you feel cool. Thankfully, the days of SEO shortcuts are largely gone because the search engines are wise to those tricks. From our perspective, that's a good thing. We never engaged in tactics to "trick" the search engines into giving our clients rankings that their website didn't deserve. That's why in over 25 years, we haven't had a client get whacked by an algorithm update.
When did you become an SEO agency?
That's a tricky question. Mainly because we were in the search engine marketing business before the phrase "search engine optimization" was coined. In the early days, it was search engine submission, but the point is we've been helping our clients leverage the search engines since 1997. You'd be hard-pressed to find an agency that has deeper SEO experience than we do.
Wouldn't I be better off hiring a specialized "SEO agency?"
We would say that depends. If you've got an in-house team that is capable of doing the new content creation, website development and digital advertising work, then yes. A dedicated SEO agency may just fit the bill quite nicely. However, effective SEO really cuts across a lot of skill sets. A really good SEO strategy requires content writing, video production, website development and leveraging data gathered in PPC campaigns. The challenges we have helped clients overcome in the past with dedicated SEO agencies is that they often don't have the ability to actually implement their recommendations. Whether that is creating new content to optimize or just fixing bad content management system programming that causes duplicate content. We offer our SEO clients a competitive advantage because we have been in the SEO business longer than most dedicated SEO agencies, and we have the skills and team to execute our SEO recommendations and strategies from soup to nuts, saving them time and energy.
