Twenty-five years ago, I took the chance on a startup venture, and Geoff (the owner) took the chance on me. This is something I will hold in my memory as one of the best decisions I've made in my life.
I was blessed with the opportunity following a major surgery in my early twenties. I wanted to be back in the workforce prior to a full recover and apparently God planned it so. I spent my recovery time practicing my design skills in a "digital" medium (using Photoshop 3 & 4 on an old Gateway laptop!) and mocked up website designed for fictitious businesses, I met Geoff and The Karcher Group, and inquired. As much of a chance as I gave this company, the company reciprocated.
Following my hire (and receiving the first official business paycheck), many other gifted people have been given the same opportunity to flourish and be well cared for in a work environment. Hiring employees based on character over outright skills is a cornerstone at TKG that I believe will never falter and continue to be a foundation of their success. I am eternally grateful to have spent two decades with TKG working alongside so many wonderful people with an honest and strong work ethic. Like a family, they undoubtedly helped support and shape my career and allowed my mentoring to help shape theirs, so cheer and much love to TKG at 25 years!
